Installing the SFS Development area
Describes how to install and use the development area for the HP SFS system
This page describes how to build and use the development area for the HP SFS environment.
Missing packages repository:
If some extra package is required it can ce found at the following (link).
Procedures to create the scratch box:
- Create a directory in which the scratch box is going to be located
- From this point onward this directory is referenced as $DEVELOPMENT_ROOT
- Download the development kernel (link) to $DEVELOPMENT_ROOT
- Note: This step is only required if you do not have a x86 64 bit Lustre enabled kernel installed
- Download the environment tarball (link) to $DEVELOPMENT_ROOT
- Extract the archive to $DEVELOPMENT_ROOT
Using the scratch box environment:
- Entering to the environment: execute: bash enter.development
- Leave the environment: Just type exit
- Note:
- In an order to use the scratchbox you have to be root on the designeted computer
- The initial acounts on the scratchbox are: sfsservdev, sfskerndev, root
- The password for all inital account is: secret
